Job summary

NHS Scotland in Lerwick is seeking a Health Care Support Worker for Ward 3. Band 3 salary £29,103–£31,409 per annum (pro rata) plus Distant Island Allowance £2,578 per annum (pro rata). Flexible full-time and part-time hours available.

You’ll learn new skills and help provide the best possible standard of care in a busy medical ward. Educated to SVQ2 level in healthcare or equivalent experience; strong communication and numeracy are essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to SVQ2 level in healthcare or equivalent experience.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, numeracy.
• You will be expected to comply with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
• PVG scheme or update may be required prior to offer.

Are you a Healthcare Support Worker looking for a new challenge and development opportunity? Or curious to try a career in care for the first time?

Ward 3 is a busy acute medical ward that strives to give patients an excellent standard of care in a busy but happy environment which is both challenging and rewarding. You will learn many new skills and enable patients to have the best possible standard of care. We have a very experienced team that will be more than happy to support you to settle into this position. We can be flexible agreeing part-time working hours for the right candidate.

It is desirable that you are educated to SVQ2 level in healthcare or have equivalent experience working within a caring environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, numeracy and an interest in developing your healthcare knowledge are also essential.
