Lead Nurse
£33,637-£36,796 per annum
30 - 37.5 hours per week
Dee View Court, AB12 5JY

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Lead Nurse to join a dynamic, friendly and highly professional team caring for people with neurological life-limiting conditions.

The Lead Nurse role will play an integral part within our newly expanded neurological centre.

As Lead Nurse you will:
  1. Be innovative in maintaining an environment that is conducive to the delivery and maintenance of a high standard of resident care.
  2. Co-ordinate nursing care for residents with a focus on supervising and supporting staff and acting as a link between nursing staff and senior management.
  3. Monitor the quality of care for residents and support the head of care to deliver the quality improvement plan.
  4. Act as a role model to the nursing team within the designated clinical area for demonstrating and embedding the Sue Ryder Values and behavioural framework.
  5. Promote a professional and courteous culture and ensure best practice.
The Lead Nurse will bring with them:
  1. Proven skilled hands-on leadership of a clinical team.
  2. Patient-centred philosophy.
  3. Evidence of continuing professional development.
  4. Substantial clinical experience.
  5. Excellent communication skills.
  6. Able to plan effectively and very well organised.
  7. Management experience at NHS band 7 or equivalent.
  8. Experience of leading clinical teams and successful change management.
  9. Knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards relevant to care setting.
  10. Able to lead and motivate a team through a performance management structure.
  11. Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills at all levels.
  12. Able to prioritise workload and manage competing priorities.
  13. Able to work independently and with others to ensure achievement of results.
  14. IT literate, able to demonstrate proficiency in basic systems such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and web-based tools such as NHS and Local Authority Tools.
  15. Able to analyse data and write reports.
  16. A demonstrable ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries.
  17. Current full driving licence.
