This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Lead Nurse to join a dynamic, friendly and highly professional team caring for people with neurological life-limiting conditions.
The Lead Nurse role will play an integral part within our newly expanded neurological centre.
As Lead Nurse you will:
- Be innovative in maintaining an environment that is conducive to the delivery and maintenance of a high standard of resident care.
- Co-ordinate nursing care for residents with a focus on supervising and supporting staff and acting as a link between nursing staff and senior management.
- Monitor the quality of care for residents and support the head of care to deliver the quality improvement plan.
- Act as a role model to the nursing team within the designated clinical area for demonstrating and embedding the Sue Ryder Values and behavioural framework.
- Promote a professional and courteous culture and ensure best practice.
The Lead Nurse will bring with them:
- Proven skilled hands-on leadership of a clinical team.

- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Substantial clinical experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to plan effectively and very well organised.
- Management experience at NHS band 7 or equivalent.
- Experience of leading clinical teams and successful change management.
- Knowledge of Care Inspectorate standards relevant to care setting.
- Able to lead and motivate a team through a performance management structure.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills at all levels.
- Able to prioritise workload and manage competing priorities.
- Able to work independently and with others to ensure achievement of results.
- IT literate, able to demonstrate proficiency in basic systems such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and web-based tools such as NHS and Local Authority Tools.
- Able to analyse data and write reports.
- A demonstrable ability to work across professional and organisational boundaries.
- Current full driving licence.
