Job summary

Oakmeadow CE Primary and Nursery School in Shrewsbury is seeking a Level 3 Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our supportive Early Years team. You will support children aged 3 to 5 with play-based learning, deliver small group and 1:1 interventions, and work with colleagues to provide engaging activities that promote curiosity and independence.

The role is term-time only, 27.5 hours per week, with a fixed-term contract until 23 July 2027.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or EYFS qualification.
• Experience with children aged 3–5 years.
• Understands the EYFS framework and child development.
• Delivers play-based learning and small group/1:1 interventions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and committed to best outcomes for children.

Responsibilities

• Support learning through play and create engaging activities for ages 3–5.
• Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions as needed.

Nursery Teaching Assistant Level 3

We are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Early Years team.

At Oakmeadow CE Primary and Nursery School, we are committed to helping children dream, grow and achieve together, providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. As part of our Nursery team, you will support children aged 3 to 5 years, helping to create engaging learning experiences that promote curiosity, independence and a love of learning.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification suitable for EYFS staff:child ratios.
• Has experience working with children aged 3 to 5 years.
• Understands the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and child development.
• Can support learning through play and deliver small group and one-to-one interventions.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is enthusiastic, reliable and committed to ensuring the best outcomes for all children.

• NJC Grade 6 SCP 7-11 (£13.26-£14.14 per hour, pay award pending).
