Job description

We are seeking a caring and motivated Nursery Teaching Assistant to support the daily activities and learning experiences within their nursery. As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children. Your role will involve assisting with play-based learning, supporting children's emotional and social development, and helping to create a positive early years experience. This role begins April 2025.

Duties as a Nursery Teaching Assistant:

  1. Assist in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities that support children's development.
  2. Provide one-to-one and small group support to encourage learning and social skills.
  3. Ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of all children in the nursery setting.
  4. Help set up and organise learning materials and play areas.
  5. Support children with personal care needs, such as toileting and mealtime assistance.
  6. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.

Ideal Nursery Teaching Assistant:

  1. A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Education, CACHE, or equivalent).
  2. Experience working in a nursery or early years setting (desirable but not essential).
  3. A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.
  4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  5. An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework (desirable).
