Job description

Banana Moon, Stoke Poges is a thriving nursery seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivational Baby Room Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to help lead a happy nursery focused on encouraging children to be children through fun and engaging play. You will work with a dedicated team in a caring, family-friendly, characterful, and stimulating environment that is inviting to children, families, and staff.

Reports To

Room Leaders report to the Nursery Manager and, in their absence, to the Deputy Manager or another designated individual as per the nursery's management structure.

Job Purpose

Room Leaders support management by providing leadership to their team in the daily operations of the nursery.

1. Support the operation of nursery facilities and staff to ensure high-quality, balanced education and care are delivered at all times.
2. Ensure adherence to Banana Moon policies and procedures.
3. Meet legislative requirements and follow the education curriculum to deliver standards that ensure the highest inspection grades.
4. Assist in training, supporting, mentoring, role modeling, and supervising staff to promote ambitious practice.
5. Create a safe, caring, and welcoming environment where parents feel confident entrusting their children, and children are encouraged to flourish in an enabling setting.
6. Promote the nursery's reputation through excellent customer care, community engagement, and marketing.
7. Act as a designated co-ordinator relevant to their skills or training, as assigned by the Nursery Manager.

This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary is negotiable depending on experience. A full list of duties and responsibilities is available.

Minimum Requirements

• Level 3 qualification as defined by the Department of Education on the Early Years Qualifications List.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure within the child workforce sector.
• Paediatric First Aid certificate (12 hours).
• Safeguarding training and qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience as a Room Leader.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children under 2 years old.
