Job summary

Claires Court School in Maidenhead is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Nursery Room Leader to join our Early Years team at The Thicket. You will lead a room for children aged two to four, delivering high-quality care in a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.

Based at The Thicket, you will manage staff, organise resources, plan stimulating activities and maintain accurate development records.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in childcare or above.
• Experience in an Early Years setting.
• Good English and numeracy skills.
• Ability to create safe, happy and stimulating play activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of your nursery room.
• Deploy staff and resources while maintaining ratios.
• Plan and deliver stimulating, age-appropriate activities.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive and creatively presented learning environment.
• Tailor routines and activities to meet each child's individual needs.
• Develop positive and appropriate bonds with your key children.
• Take responsibility for the welfare of all children within your room.
• Lead observations and maintain accurate development records, including through the Evidence Me app.
• Support, coaching and developing other members of the nursery team.
• Identify training needs and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Build trusted relationships with parents and carers.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and GDPR requirements.

Claires Court has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and qualified Nursery Room Leader to join our experienced Early Years team.

Based at The Thicket in Maidenhead, you will work with children aged two to four in a new nursery setting surrounded by beautiful grounds alongside our Junior School.

The Role

As Nursery Room Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your room. You will ensure children receive consistently high-quality care while creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment in which they can learn, develop and thrive.

You will lead and support your staff team, organise resources effectively and build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the day-to-day operation of your nursery room

• Planning and delivering stimulating, age-appropriate activities


• Creating a welcoming, inclusive and creatively presented learning environment

About You

You must have:
