Job description

We are seeking a nursery room leader. You must be qualified to a minimum of a Level 3 nursery practitioner qualification to apply.

Responsibilities:
  1. Supervise and lead a team of nursery staff in providing high-quality care and education to children.
  2. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
  3. Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
  4. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, including observations, assessments, and developmental milestones.
  5. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and any concerns or issues that may arise.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  7. Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  8. Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant childcare qualification such as NNEB, NVQ Level 3, or Diploma.
  • Knowledge of SENDCO is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification is required.
  • Driving Licence preferred but not mandatory.

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early childhood education setting.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and other stakeholders.

Additional Information:

  • Salary from £27,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
