Job description

Job Title: Nursery Room Leader Location: London, UK Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent Pay: Paid to scale Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Room Leader to join our dynamic team in a well-established nursery in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a room and implementing high-quality care and educational practices within a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the planning and delivery of a rich and engaging curriculum that meets the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and supports children's learning and development. • Monitor and assess the progress of children, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. • Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents/carers, ensuring effective communication about children's development and daily activities. • Manage and supervise the room team, guiding and supporting colleagues to enhance their professional development and maintain high standards of care. • Ensure that health and safety policies are followed and that the room environment is safe, clean, and well-organized. • Contribute to the nursery's self-evaluation and improvement practices. Qualifications and Skills: • NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent. • Proven experience as a Room Leader or significant experience in a senior nursery practitioner role. • Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development. • Excellent leadership and communication skills. • Commitment to equal opportunities and an understanding of safeguarding and child protection. • First Aid training is desirable.
