South East/ permanent / £26k - 28.5k per year

About the Role:

We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our warm and supportive team in Chelmsford. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your early years career and lead a dynamic team in creating a nurturing, inspiring, and educational environment for young children.

Key Responsibilities:

As Room Leader, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the room. Your main duties will include:

Leading, supporting, and mentoring a team of practitioners in your designated room

Planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging activities that support the EYFS framework

Ensuring a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment

Monitoring children's development and maintaining accurate records

Building strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and staff

Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety policies are always followed

Supporting with staff training, development, and performance reviews

Liaising with the nursery management team to maintain high standards of care and education

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone passionate about early years education and confident in leading a team. You must have:

Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years / Childcare (essential)

Proven experience working in a nursery setting (at least 2 years preferred)

Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within early years (highly desirable)

Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework , safeguarding, and child protection procedures

Excellent communication and organisational skills

A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine love for working with children

Start Date:

An immediate start is ideal, but we are happy to be flexible for the right candidate.
