Job summary

Busy Bees in Huntingdon is seeking a Room Leader to oversee multiple rooms, lead a motivated team, and ensure high standards of care and learning. You will implement the Bee Curious curriculum across the centre and model best practice for staff and families.

In this leadership role, you’ll support progression for children, manage health and safety, and collaborate with the Nursery Manager to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in early years education or higher is required.
• Experience supervising in an early years setting is preferred.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills are essential.
• Passion for fostering children’s development and building positive relationships with families.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of age-appropriate activities and curriculum in your room.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children.
• Foster a high-performing team through supportive leadership and collaboration.
• Oversee the development and wellbeing of children, ensuring their progress is tracked and communicated with parents.
• Take on the role of Key Person, ensuring holistic development and personal care needs.
• Ensure health and safety standards are met, maintaining a clean and secure environment.

Ideal Candidate

• Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
• Experience in an early years setting, with supervisory experience an advantage ideally as a Nursery Room Leader, Nursery Room Manager or Nursery Practitioner.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Passionate about fostering children’s development and creating positive relationships with families.
