Job description

This setting based in Hemel Hempstead is looking to recruit a new member of the team. They have a Room Leader position opening.

Position: Room Leader

Hours: 40 to 45 hours per week based on a shift pattern between 7.30am to 6pm

Salary: £24,960 to £27,040 gross per annum

Main duties:
  1. Promoting high quality childcare:
    • Room Leaders must ensure the environment of the room is highly stimulating.
    • Support good practices around Inclusion, including support for children with SEND and those who use EAL.
    • Planning ahead and adjusting care and resources to meet EYFS guidelines, consulting with senior management for long-term planning or major changes.
  2. Communicating with parents, carers, and local authorities:
    • Communicate openly and effectively with parents and carers.
    • Encourage staff to build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing advice and support.
    • Good knowledge of ICT.
  3. Keeping children safe and healthy:
    • Ensure safety and health at all times by minimizing risks.
    • Understand all relevant health and safety policies, safeguarding, emergency, and security procedures, and ensure staff follow them.
  4. Supervising staff and assigning tasks:
    • Supervise staff, maintain positive relationships, and support their needs.
    • Mentor staff through training, assign duties, and ensure proper documentation.
    • Liaise with senior management for training delivery.
    • Ensure effective teamwork to meet EYFS guidelines.
