Overview

Nursery Room Leader position requiring a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification. Full-time, permanent role.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare activities that stimulate the interest of children and babies, working with staff to deliver learning experiences.
  • Ensure the Equal Opportunities policy and diversity considerations are integral to daily practice.
  • Be aware of how skills and knowledge of books and play materials in the nursery environment support development and celebrate diversity within the local community.
  • Work independently at times with support from the Manager and Directors.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents and external agencies (verbal and written).
  • Supervise and delegate staff appropriately, with awareness of legislation requirements.
  • Maintain routines and respond flexibly to service demands.
  • Respond to reasonable requests to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.
  • Take pride in the environment and promote equal opportunities, safeguarding and wellbeing of children at all times.
  • Support and advise the team to maintain good relations with all staff, volunteers, students and parents.
  • Provide an emotionally and psychologically safe environment for the children and any visitors.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and uphold safeguarding practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification.
  • Experience preferred: Nursery 1 year, Childcare 1 year, Management 1 year.
  • Driving licence preferred.
  • Education: GCSE or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with nursery settings and managing staff is desirable.
  • Work Location: In person.
