Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Lunch Cover Nursery Nurse to be based at our Shirley nursery. The nursery offers state-of-the-art facilities, combining bright and spacious indoor rooms along with fabulous outdoor areas.

You will be working 20 hours per week (Mon-Fri) from 11am to 3pm.

Requirements:

• Be able to work Monday to Friday from 11am to 3pm (all year round)
• Level 2 / 3 or above qualification in early years essential
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Ability to use your own initiative
• Your passion to be shown in your day-to-day interaction with children

• Supporting children with feeding if necessary.
• Ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are adhered to.
• Setting up and cleaning tables before and after meals.
• Following food hygiene and safety regulations.
• Assisting with handwashing before and after meals.
• Cleaning spills and ensuring a tidy eating area.
• Encouraging conversation and social skills during meals.
• Promoting a positive and relaxed atmosphere.
• Recognizing when children need assistance or reassurance.
• Monitoring children for any signs of choking or allergic reactions.
• Being aware of emergency procedures and acting promptly when necessary.
• Supervising children as they transition to and from the lunch area.
• Helping children prepare for nap time (if applicable).
• Engaging children in calm activities before they return to learning sessions.
