Job summary

Chestnut House Kindergarten Nursery in Colchester is seeking a Part time Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly team. The role is 16 hours across Thursday and Friday, 8am–5pm, and pays £10,561.20 per annum.

We offer a supportive family environment with flexible days within our open hours. You will provide high-quality care and education, meet each child’s needs, observe and plan activities, and work within EYFS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification - essential.
• Fluent in written and spoken English - essential.
• Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable.
• Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and regulatory requirements - desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that each child’s individual needs are met in a caring, safe and secure environment in which all children can play, learn and develop.
• Observe, assess and plan an interesting, stimulating and challenging range of early years activities which supports each child’s individual learning and development needs and abilities.
• Engage as a professional member of the team, exhibiting a flexible attitude and willingness to develop new skills
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are read, applied, regularly reviewed and adhered to by all
• Follow risk assessments diligently and report all health and safety matters to management.
• Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development

Chestnut House Kindergarten Nursery is based in the historic city of Colchester, ideally located on a main road with excellent public transport links and just a short distance from the town centre. We are currently seeking a Level 3 Practitioner to join our friendly team for two days per week, with flexibility around which days are worked. The nursery is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm, and the role will involve working within these hours on a patterned basis. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will need:

• Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification - essential


• Fluent in written and spoken English - essential


• Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable


• Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable
