St Peter’s School York is offering an Apprenticeship as a Nursery Practitioner Apprentice at The Rise Nursery. The role is for 18 months, Level 3 Early Years Educator, with four days in nursery 8.30am-5pm and one day per week at York College for study. Start January 2027.

You will receive a salary of £24,785 per annum and a comprehensive training programme with a mentor, induction, and extensive on-site and college learning to help you become an excellent practitioner.

Qualifications

• All apprentices must meet entry requirements: 4 GCSEs grade 4/C or above including English and Maths.
• This will be delivered by York College as part of the training programme.
• You will be supported by a dedicated mentor and undergo an extensive induction and training programme.

• Create a safe, stimulating, language-rich and child-led learning environment where babies and children thrive.
• Plan ‘in the moment’ in response to the play of babies and young children, expanding learning possibilities.
• Be a devoted, compassionate and attuned keyperson.
• Assess and support children’s learning milestones and share these with parents.
• Fully engage with the training programme and Curiosity Approach and Reggio Emilia Inspired philosophy.
• Be a collaborative team member, supporting new staff and being a great team player.
• Communicate thoughtfully with parents and carers and build positive relationships with families.
