Job Description: Nursery Practitioner

Wembley Park Montessori is recruiting for an experienced Baby Unit Manager to join their busy, yet warm and friendly nursery of 36 places.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week across various shifts between 8am-6pm, with at least one half-day off per week.

Salary: £24,960 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and working as part of a team to ensure smooth nursery operations
• Caring for children, ensuring their personal, hygiene, and developmental needs are met
• Observing, assessing, and planning for individual children's needs
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation related to early education and ensuring compliance with EYFS and Ofsted requirements
• Familiarity with nursery policies and procedures
• Sharing ideas and involving the team in decision-making
• Delegating tasks appropriately
• Building strong relationships with parents and children
• Using the nursery app "Blossom Educational" (training provided)
• Deputising in the absence of Managers

Candidate requirements:

• Minimum Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma (essential)
• Previous experience leading a nursery room with children under 5 (essential)
• Experience in a Montessori setting (desired but not essential)
• Positive role model qualities
• Extensive knowledge of current EYFS
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion, motivation, teamwork ability, adaptability
• Good ICT skills
• Current and clean DBS certificate (mandatory for safeguarding)
