- The Early Years Teacher has a duty of care for all children to safeguard and promote their welfare.

- Be aware of responsibilities in line with policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Ensure the room meets audit standards and address any action points.
- Deliver high-quality childcare and maintain professionalism.
- Communicate with line managers about room activities and progress.
- Participate in professional development and reflect on practices to improve childcare quality.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Be assigned as a key person for a group of children to meet their developmental needs.
- Ensure all children in your care are safe and secure.
- Build effective relationships with parents.
- Care for visitors, staff, and parents, ensuring legal compliance.
- Implement and supervise activities to create a stimulating environment.
- Assist in resolving issues and complaints satisfactorily.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and punctuality.
- Ensure attendance is above 80% for the children’s benefit.
Wembley Park Montessori is recruiting an experienced Baby Unit Manager for their nursery of 36 places.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours weekly, with shifts between 8am-6pm, including at least one half-day per week.
Salary: £24,960 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

A typical day includes:
- Leading and working with the team to ensure smooth nursery operations
- Caring for children and meeting their personal and hygiene needs
- Monitoring and supporting children's development through observation and planning
- Staying updated on legislation and maintaining EYFS and Ofsted compliance
- Implementing nursery policies and involving the team in decision-making
- Building relationships with parents and children
- Using the nursery app "Blossom Educational" (training provided)
- Deputising for Managers when needed
Candidate requirements:
- Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma (essential)
- Experience leading a room with children under 5 (essential)
- Experience in Montessori settings (desired but not essential)
- Positive role model and extensive knowledge of EYFS
- Excellent communication skills
- Passionate, motivated, adaptable, and ICT proficient
- Current and clean DBS certificate (mandatory)
