Job Description
The Early Years Teacher has a duty of care for all children in their care to safeguard and promote their welfare. They will work as part of a team to ensure all legal and curriculum requirements are met, in line with Inspire Montessori Schools policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills are essential, involving listening, questioning, understanding, and responding to children and caregivers. They should have a clear understanding of their role and the roles of other team members.
- Share information with staff in a timely manner and collaborate to ensure the safety and well-being of all children within the nursery.
- Possess a good knowledge of child development to meet each child's individual needs. Be involved in planning activities to create a stimulating environment, ensuring high-quality childcare and positive outcomes for children and staff. Work closely with other staff and the Room Lead, and liaise with parents to meet each child's needs.
- Undertake relevant training in Health and Safety, both upon appointment and as required by legislative changes.
- Follow safe working practices for children and staff, complying with Inspire Montessori Schools' Health and Safety Policy.
- Report concerns regarding the well-being and safeguarding of children and staff as per company policies and local authority guidelines.
- Coordinate and plan activities following Montessori principles to develop a stimulating environment.
- Ensure responsibilities align with all company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Ensure the room complies with internal audits, addressing any action points.
- Deliver high-quality childcare, maintaining professionalism and positive outcomes.
- Communicate with line managers about activities and progress, demonstrate commitment to professional development, and reflect on practices to improve childcare quality.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Be assigned as a key person for a group of children, ensuring their developmental needs are met.
- Ensure all children in their room are safe and secure.
- Build effective relationships with parents and ensure the safety of visitors, staff, and parents, complying with legal requirements.
- Implement and supervise activities to create a stimulating environment.
- Assist in resolving issues, queries, and complaints satisfactorily.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and punctuality.
- Ensure attendance exceeds 80% for the children’s benefit.
Additional Details
Wembley Park Montessori is recruiting an experienced Baby Unit Manager for their nursery of 36 places. This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with shifts between 8 am-6 pm, including at least one half-day weekly.
Salary: £24,960 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Role Expectations

Familiarity with nursery policies, delegation, and the use of nursery app 'Blossom Educational' is expected. Deputising for managers when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma (essential)
- Experience leading a room with children under 5 (essential)
- Experience in Montessori setting (desired but not essential)
- Positive role model qualities
- Extensive knowledge of EYFS
- Excellent communication skills
- Passionate, motivated, adaptable, and ICT proficient
- Current and clean DBS certificate
