Job Description

The Early Years Teacher has a duty of care for all children in their care to safeguard and promote their welfare. They will work as part of a team to ensure all legal and curriculum requirements are met, in line with Inspire Montessori Schools policies and procedures.

1. Excellent communication skills are essential, involving listening, questioning, understanding, and responding to children and caregivers. They should have a clear understanding of their role and the roles of other team members.
2. Share information with staff in a timely manner and collaborate to ensure the safety and well-being of all children within the nursery.
3. Possess a good knowledge of child development to meet each child's individual needs. Be involved in planning activities to create a stimulating environment, ensuring high-quality childcare and positive outcomes for children and staff. Work closely with other staff and the Room Lead, and liaise with parents to meet each child's needs.
4. Undertake relevant training in Health and Safety, both upon appointment and as required by legislative changes.
5. Follow safe working practices for children and staff, complying with Inspire Montessori Schools' Health and Safety Policy.
6. Report concerns regarding the well-being and safeguarding of children and staff as per company policies and local authority guidelines.
7. Coordinate and plan activities following Montessori principles to develop a stimulating environment.
8. Ensure responsibilities align with all company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
9. Ensure the room complies with internal audits, addressing any action points.
10. Deliver high-quality childcare, maintaining professionalism and positive outcomes.
11. Communicate with line managers about activities and progress, demonstrate commitment to professional development, and reflect on practices to improve childcare quality.
12. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
13. Be assigned as a key person for a group of children, ensuring their developmental needs are met.
14. Ensure all children in their room are safe and secure.

Additional Details

Wembley Park Montessori is recruiting an experienced Baby Unit Manager for their nursery of 36 places. This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, with shifts between 8 am-6 pm, including at least one half-day weekly.

Salary: £24,960 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
