Job Description - Level 2/3 Childcare Practitioner
This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking, highly motivated team of childcare practitioners. Our nurseries are dedicated to providing children with the best possible care and early years education and to working with staff to enhance their skills and knowledge to be the best they can be.
Requirements;
Main Duties/responsibilities include:
? Provide the highest level of care for the children within the designated room.
? Take responsibility for the development and education of the children, setting up age appropriate, engaging indoor/outdoor play activities
? Have a clear understanding of safeguarding and ensure the protection of all children within the setting accordingly
? Maintain the security of the children at all times and report hazards to the supervisor or manager
? Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times undertaking cleaning duties as required
? Attend to first aid needs, as required and attend regularly training to ensure skills and knowledge are up to date
? Prepare and supervise drinks, morning snacks & tea; serve and supervise lunch, wiping the tables and clearing away including disinfecting all chairs and tables and washing the floor
? Monitor sleeps
? Form positive relationships with parents and assist with their enquiries.
? Answer the telephone in an appropriate manner and record/report details as necessary
? Care for nursery pets as required
? A good knowledge of early childhood development and and understanding of childcare policies and procedures
? Make and record observations of the children and contribute to the planning of play activities that are stimulating and specific to the needs and abilities of the children.
? Supervise and assist the children in clearing away activities and ensure that all the equipment is stored correctly.
The successful candidate most hold a minimum of an NVQ Level CCLD or equivalent and have experience of working in a busy nursery environment
The successful candidate must be flexible and reliable and have genuine passion for working in Early Years education and care.
