Nursery Practitioner Needed - South Shields

Are you a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner looking for a fulfilling role in a warm and welcoming nursery setting?

We're currently looking for a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join a lovely nursery in South Shields. This is a great opportunity to work within a supportive team that puts children's development and wellbeing at the heart of everything they do.

About the Role:
  • Job Type: Temporary/supply with potential for longer-term placement

  • Location: South Shields

  • Setting: Private Day Nursery

  • Hours: Flexible hours available (full-time or part-time, term-time or all year round)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support children's learning and development in line with the EYFS

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities

  • Foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment

  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues

  • Follow nursery safeguarding and health & safety procedures

  • Promote children's personal, social, and emotional development

Requirements:
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting

  • Good understanding of the EYFS and child development

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

  • Friendly, professional, and reliable approach

  • Paediatric First Aid (desirable but not essential)
