Job summary

City of Portsmouth College is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to support the nursery deputies and practitioners at Highbury Campus, Portsmouth. The role involves caring for children and assisting in day-to-day nursery operations.

Applicants should have Level 3 Childcare qualification (or be working towards it) and demonstrate strong communication, teamwork and safeguarding commitment. This post is part-time, 30 hours weekly, 38 weeks per year, permanent.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • To oversee and participate in children’s activities including planning and observations.
  • To assist in devising stimulating activities appropriate to ages and stages of the children and maintain children’s records.
  • To assist in maintaining a clean, healthy and safe environment for the children.
  • To actively participate in team meetings and discussions.
  • To ensure that all children are, at all times, acting and behaving safely.
  • To attend training as necessary and carry out any other duties reasonably required by the Nursery manager.

Salary: £18,255.21 - £18,774.31 actual salary, £25,410.97 - £26,133.56 Full Time Equivalent per annum

Hours of work: 30 Hours per week, Part-Time, 38 Weeks per year, Permanent

About the role

The Nursery Practitioner will support the Nursery deputies and Nursery practitioners in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Nursery. This role involves providing care and support for all children attending the Nursery.

Key Responsibilities
