Job description

We are looking for a full time, Level 3 qualified Practitioner to join our Early Years setting. Early Steps Daycare opened in late 2023 and is located within the heart of Whitechapel, amidst a diverse and multicultural population.

To apply for this position, you must hold a Childcare qualification minimum of LEVEL 3 as well as this, you should also have a minimum of 2 years of nursery experience.

Our opening times are from 08:00 - 18:00.

This position is for full time, 40 hours a week, over 5 days a week, typically 08:00 - 17:00 or 09:00 - 18:00.

Salary starts from £25,000 - £26,600 per annum with potential to increase as the business grows.

Role:
  • Qualified Level 3 practitioners to be familiar with planning and implementing engaging activities for children aged between 9 months to 5 years.
  • Record children’s progress/achievements and reflect on learning practices.
  • Communicate to develop and maintain strong parent/carer partnerships.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and hygiene, as well as following all child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
  • Provide support to other nursery staff members and work collaboratively as part of a team.
We are looking for:
  • Full and Relevant Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nursery Assistant or similar)
  • Enthusiasm for making learning fun and engaging for each and every child
  • Strong and effective communication skills with both children and adults
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the Early Years Framework.

We aim to promote Child-centred practice, one that is nurturing to children and providing them with the best possible learning opportunity. Practitioners applying for this role must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Interviews will take place on a rolling basis as applications are received.

IMPORTANT: We will only accept applications in the form of qualified Level 3 Childcare (CACHE accredited or equivalent) applicants.
