Job summary

Teach Plus are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets to recruit a caring Nursery Practitioner to support children across Nursery and Reception. This role starts January 2027 or sooner and offers full-time hours.

The successful candidate will provide engaging learning experiences, support development across early years, collaborate with the Early Years team, and help maintain a safe, nurturing EYFS environment for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Level 3 childcare or EY qualification is essential.
• Experience in Nursery/Reception/EY settings.
• Good EYFS understanding.
• Nurturing, patient, proactive approach.

About the role and school

Teach Plus are working with a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets that is looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to support children across Nursery and Reception.

The school is looking for a qualified Early Years professional who can provide engaging learning experiences, support children's development and help maintain a safe, nurturing environment. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of building strong foundations in communication, early literacy, social skills and independence.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Early Years team to deliver age-appropriate activities and support children's learning in line with the EYFS framework. The role is available from January, with the possibility of an earlier start.

Job Responsibilities

• Support children across Nursery and Reception
• Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities through play and exploration
• Promote children's communication, language and social development
• Encourage independence and positive interactions
• Support early literacy, numeracy and phonics activities where appropriate

Qualifications/Experience

• A relevant Level 3 childcare or Early Years qualification, or equivalent, is essential
• Previous experience in a Nursery, Reception or Early Years setting
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• A nurturing, patient and proactive approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to support children with different learning and developmental needs
• Available to start in January or sooner
