Job description
Overview

Are you passionate about working with young children and looking for opportunities within early years education? Five Education is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Nursery Practitioners to work in nurseries within the BS3 and South Bristol area.

As a supply nursery practitioner, you’ll work on a flexible, day-to-day basis in a variety of friendly and welcoming nurseries across BS3 (including Southville, Bedminster, and surrounding areas), though long-term and contract opportunities may also become available. You’ll support children’s learning and development through play, care routines, and everyday activities, all under the guidance of experienced early years professionals.

Qualifications in early years education are ideal but not necessary, and we welcome any applicants with adjacent experience, or those who are thinking about pursuing a career in childcare.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children
  • Support children with daily routines including mealtimes, toileting, and hygiene
  • Encourage play-based learning and help facilitate age-appropriate activities
  • Build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times
  • Take direction from nursery staff and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Observe and report any concerns regarding children’s wellbeing
Essential Criteria
  • Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children’s learning
  • Available to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 (with some possible variation)
  • Right to work in the UK; we are unable to offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas
  • Able to provide two recent references (from the last two years)
  • Up to date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one

Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo checks including reference checks, TRA checks, and a DBS; there will also be an interview.
