The East Kent Colleges Group is home to three nurseries serving students, staff, and the local community from our Broadstairs, Canterbury, and Folkestone College campuses. Due to our popularity, we're looking for a full-time Nursery Practitioner to cover maternity leave for 12 months within our friendly Folkestone team. We will provide a hand-over from the individual going on maternity leave, and there may be other opportunities over the next year as the sector continues to grow. We pride ourselves on a great team spirit and warm, nurturing surroundings for the children in our care. We are seeking an experienced Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner to support the Nursery Manager and work within our team.

You should have nursery experience and an understanding of the EYFS. The role involves taking on a key person responsibility, delivering high-quality early years education, working with parents/carers, and maintaining welfare standards.
You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, engage with children, parents, and families, and demonstrate knowledge of child development, children’s needs, and relevant health and safety standards. The ability to act upon health and safety information to ensure a safe environment is essential.
You should understand policies related to equality and inclusive practice and be able to implement them. Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed is also required.
