Job summary

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a Nursery Practitioner in West Bromwich to support children’s early development in EYFS settings. You will foster a safe, playful learning environment and work closely with experienced Early Years professionals.

The role offers flexible or consistent hours, scope for part-time or full-time placements, and progression opportunities within diverse nurseries. Start date targeted for October 2026.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting.
  • Understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young children.
  • Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Paediatric First Aid (desirable).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to provide suitable references covering your last 24 months.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and parents/carers.

Nursery Practitioner - West Bromwich

The Role

You will create a safe, welcoming and stimulating nursery environment, helping children learn, explore and develop through play-based activities. You'll work alongside other Early Years professionals to support children's individual development, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
