Pertemps Leeds is recruiting Nursery Operatives for a busy horticultural business based in Gilberdyke, HU15. These are long-term temp-to-permanent roles offering a pathway to a permanent position within a growing team.

The role spans a greenhouse and packhouse, handling herbal plants for medicinal purposes and supporting daily production targets with careful packing and order preparation. Overtime is paid and shifts start early in the morning.

Job description

We are recruiting Nursery Operatives to join a busy and growing horticultural business based in Gilberdyke, HU15.

These are long-term temp-to-permanent opportunities for people who are genuinely looking for a permanent position and want to build a career within a growing team.

The role is based across a greenhouse and packhouse environment, working with herbal plants grown for medicinal purposes, including plants associated with medicinal products used in the treatment of leukaemia.

The Role

• Picking and harvesting plants
• Preparing plants for orders and dispatch
• Packing plants carefully and efficiently
• Working across the greenhouse and packhouse
• Checking plants meet quality standards
• Following procedures and instructions
• Keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe
• Working as part of a team to meet daily targets

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday
• 39 hours per week
• Various shift patterns available
• Full-time and part-time opportunities
• Shifts can start from around 6:00am
• Hours may change seasonally depending on business requirements
• 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• £12.85 per hour initially
• Increased rate once taken on permanently after 12 weeks
• Hours over 39 per week paid at time and a half
• Overtime available
