Qualified Nursery Practitioner – Portsmouth

Overview

Location: Portsmouth
Pay: £14.70–£15.50 per hour (depending on qualifications)
Hours: Flexible shifts available (typical hours 8:00–17:00)

Are you a qualified and experienced Nursery Practitioner seeking flexibility in your career? We’re looking for dedicated practitioners to work across a range of nurseries in the Portsmouth area. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills in a flexible agency role while making a real difference in children’s early years.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and learning opportunities for children
  • Plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate activities to support development
  • Assist with daily routines including mealtimes, nap times, and toileting
  • Work with colleagues to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
  • Record children’s progress and share updates with families and staff
  • Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)
  • Previous experience as a Nursery Practitioner and knowledge of childcare best practice
  • Strong understanding of child development and early years activities
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work across different nurseries
  • Valid Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable)
