About the role

Nursery Nurse (Key Carer)

Full Time - Term Time Only

The School and Role:

Vision for Education are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and commited Nursery Assistant (Key Carer) in a wonderful nursery school in Lancing. You will be expected to plan and provide an inclusive, caring and stimulating environment with exciting play opportunities that meet all children's developmental needs. You will nurture and stimulate children aged 0-5 while fostering academic, personal, and social growth. The role is a full time, permanent contract to work Monday to Friday and the hours will vary between the opening times of the Nursery which is 8-5pm, this nursery is term time only too! You will be joining a very hard-working, dedicated and friendly team that are very passionate to give the children the best start to their education by teaching them independance as well as teamwork.

This job as a Nursery Assistant (Key Carer), requires you to be physically fit, work on your own initiative and responsive to the needs of the children. There will be occasions requiring physical effort for manual handing, lifting, changing and dressing children as well as providing personal care. The nursery is a large building that is very lucky to have a large garden for each age group, the children make full use of this as they're always outside! If you love to get outdoors, play in the sand and search for bugs whilst maintaining high quality education for the children then this is the role for you!

The ideal Key Carer will have;

  • Level 3 in Early Years Childcare or equivalent (is essential)
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the key principles of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Relevant organisational skills
  • Good understanding of Ofsted Regulatory Requirements
  • An understanding of the Special Educational Needs (SEND) code of practice and the provision of an inclusive environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection and the Children's Act 1989
  • Previous experience working in a variety of settings
  • The ability to build positive relationships with both staff and children
