We are a fun, versatile and enthusiastic nursery spread across our Hornsey and Crouch end sites:

- Baby and Toddler - from birth to 3 years

- Preschool - from 3 to 5 years

About the role

Creative Explorers is a busy nursery which aims to deliver high end childcare, in addition to highly skilled practitioners. We support our employees to be successful in their career paths and offer opportunities for progression into leadership roles.

We have a number of Level 2 and 3 Nursery Practitioner roles available across all the age groups and are keen to meet people with a strong childcare background who are looking for a new challenge!

The Nursery Practitioner will report directly to the Heads of the Rooms and also the Managers. They will work alongside them to ensure new and existing children and their families are supported throughout their nursery life.

Duties

We use a play based approach to children's learning and development in which you will undertake a Key Person role requiring you to:

  • assess the different stages of your key children's learning in line with the EYFS
  • use an online journal system called Famly in which you will be trained on how to observe, support and extend children's learning daily
  • use your observations to plan appropriately for children using their current interests as guidance
  • work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members to ensure a smooth transition from home to nursery
Skills and experience
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies
  • Creative abilities a plus!
  • Level 2 or 3 Childcare qualification or above
  • At least 2 years experience within an Early Years childcare setting
  • Experience as a Key Person

Working Week

Monday - Friday, 07:30-18:00, 4 or 5 days per week

Location

This Job is located in Haringey, London.

The sites are located only a few minutes walk from Hornsey overground station. We are also accessible via the W3, 144, 41 and 91 buses.

We are also a 15 minute walk from Turnpike Lane underground station (Piccadilly Line).

Our Preschool and babies and toddlers Crouch end sites have a private car park which staff are able to utilise.

Skills/Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3, or above
  • 2+ Years experience in an Early Years setting
  • Key Person experience
