Post 1: 36 hours per week - £27,000.32 - £28,803.80
Post 2: 7 hours per week - £5,250.06 - £5,600.74

Closeburn nursery is seeking 2 Nursery Nurse's to fill vacancies. You will be required to work 36 or 7 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, hours to be discussed at interview.

Closeburn nursery setting caters for children aged 2-5 years old. We strive to provide an enriching, nurturing environment both indoors and out to help promote children's independence and curiosity.

Educated to SCQF level 7 in either - Social Services, Children & Young People, HNC Childhood Practice or equivalent. We require someone who can adapt quickly to fulfilling the educational and social needs of pupils in our Nursery and who will play an active role in our staff team. The successful candidate will display the appropriate professional skills and abilities, knowledge and understanding. You will participate in implementation of the development of the curriculum within our nursery class following the appropriate school policies on learning including pupil assessment. You must be able to work in a collegiate way with staff in school, with colleagues in other establishments and agencies, consulting regularly with parents and carers.

Dumfries and Galloway Council's Nursery settings may operate between the hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm and employee working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service.

Nursery Nurse applicants must hold a relevant qualification that enables registration with The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as Practitioner of Day Care Children's Services (without conditions). Link to list of qualifications below:

All successful applicants for early education and childcare posts will be required to register with the SSSC within 3 months.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
