Do you have a passion for working with children?

Playdays Day Nursery at The James Cook University Hospital is looking to recruit a Nursery Nurse for hours per week, Monday to Friday, in our 86-place Nursery.

The Nursery operates from 06:45 to 18:00, and staff work within these hours.

Applicants should have a Level 3 Childcare qualification and enjoy engaging with children’s development, even if it gets messy.

Main duties of the job

  • Caring for children aged 0-4 years.
  • Meeting children’s physical and developmental needs.
  • Collaborating with a team to provide services to NHS staff.
  • Building relationships with children and their parents or carers.
  • Coordinating with external agencies to support children’s needs.

Qualifications

  • NNEB / BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education or equivalent.
  • GCSE English Grade C or equivalent.

Knowledge

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the Childcare Act 2009, safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Experience

  • Work placement experience in a childcare setting.

DBS Checks

Candidates will need to pay for their DBS check, deducted from the first salary.
