St Anne's School and Sixth Form College on Boothferry Road in Hessle are looking for an outstanding person to join our exceptional team as a Nursery Nurse working under the direction of the class teacher to provide early years education within the specifications of the Early Years Framework.

Teamwork is key at St Anne's. As a school for students with complex medical needs and Severe Learning Difficulties, the Nursery Nurse will play a key role in providing a safe and stimulating learning environment.

Whilst mechanical aids are used where practicably possible, there is an element of manual handling involved in the role as is the requirement to assist with personal care, for example: feeding, changing and toileting.

A warm, caring and patient personality is essential to work at St Anne's and you must be able to:

  • Show superb communication skills with children, young people, their carers and other agencies
  • Be proactive and show initiative
  • Be a trustworthy role model in and around our school community
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality whilst adhering to safeguarding principles at all times
  • Demonstrate you really care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
  • Demonstrate that you have the necessary skills and experience for a Special Needs Education setting.

You will have an appropriate Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) which meets the full and relevant criteria for Early Years qualifications set out in the Statutory Framework for EYFS
