Job description

?? Nursery Manager – Lead with Nature at Heart ??
Location: Overbury, Worcestershire (Cotswolds – near Tewkesbury, Evesham & Cheltenham)
Full-Time | Competitive Salary (DOE) | Potential On-Site Accommodation

Are you an experienced Early Years professional ready to take the lead in a setting where nature, nurture, and community are at the heart of everything we do?

We’re seeking a dedicated Nursery Manager to join our beautiful rural nursery in Overbury, Worcestershire—a setting that offers children the chance to learn and grow in a rich outdoor environment, supported by a committed, values-driven team.

?? About Our Nursery in Overbury

Established in 2009 and part of the Overbury Enterprises group, our independent nursery is located in the stunning Cotswold countryside. With a strong emphasis on sustainability, outdoor exploration, and meaningful relationships, our nursery provides a truly special start in life for the 34 children who attend—and we are poised for growth.

Backed by a wider team across Overbury Enterprises (including estates and finance support), the nursery sits next to the village school, has its own kitchen and cook, and has recently received positive feedback during a full Ofsted inspection—which highlighted our unique ethos and child-centred approach.

?? The Role – Nursery Manager in Overbury, Worcestershire

As Nursery Manager, you’ll lead a small, committed team to deliver high-quality early years education that reflects our outdoor ethos and community values. You will:

  • Champion the nursery’s vision and values, ensuring each child is nurtured to thrive

  • Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance

  • Lead staff development and foster a culture of support and creativity

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents and the local community

  • Bring energy, ideas, and stability as the nursery evolves and grows

?? Who We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A minimum Level 5 Early Years qualification (Level 3 considered for exceptional candidates with leadership experience)

  • Proven experience as a Nursery Manager or strong Deputy looking to take the next step

  • A passion for outdoor learning and a nature-connected approach

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

  • Confidence working in a rural setting with a close-knit team

Desirable:

  • Background in independent or small nursery settings

  • Familiarity with eco-education, sustainability, or farm-to-fork concepts in the EYFS

?? What You’ll Gain

  • A competitive salary (depending on experience)

  • Potential on-site accommodation within the scenic Overbury, Worcestershire estate

  • A genuinely supportive working environment backed by a wider leadership team

  • The chance to lead and shape a respected nursery in the heart of the Cotswolds

  • A role where purpose, creativity, and wellbeing are truly valued

If you're inspired by the idea of leading a setting where children grow through curiosity, community, and connection with the natural world—we’d love to hear from you.
