Note: There is potential for this role to extend to full-time which involves working around the holiday period. Please note that this role is a part-year role and is paid over 38 weeks in the academic year on a salaried basis.

Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our vibrant educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, helping them to develop essential skills through engaging educational activities. This position requires a commitment to educating and inspiring children, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Duties

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes learning through play and exploration.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment for all children.
  • Observe and assess each child's progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Facilitate engaging activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and social interaction.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and classroom activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share best practices.
  • Recruiting new staff and doing staff supervisions/appraisals/regular observations for well-being and practice
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and educational regulations.
  • Keep policies and procedures up to date
  • Checking and updating EHCP's, IEPs, support plans and maintaining them whilst feeding back to parents and staff.
  • Administration tasks
  • Creating children records for admissions
  • Organising parent and staff meetings/ training etc

Requirements

  • A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
  • Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for educating young children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children in your care.
