Job summary

Acorn Early Years Hedgerows Nursery in Netherfield is seeking a passionate Nursery Manager to lead a warm, inclusive team and deliver high-quality, child-centred practice under the EYFS framework.

You will work closely with families and local services to support children facing disadvantage, safeguarding wellbeing, and drive continuous improvement across the nursery while modelling compassionate leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child-centred practice.
• Experience working with families and communities facing disadvantage.
• Understanding of poverty, inequality and social barriers impacting development.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead with compassion and child-first practice in line with EYFS.
• Create an inclusive culture where staff feel supported and motivated.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Support observation and assessment to understand each child’s journey.
• Build trusted partnerships with families and community services.
