As our Nursery Manager, you ll work closely with the Owner to lead an exceptional team, uphold the highest standards of care, and drive continuous improvement throughout the setting.

Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Manager:

  • Taking overall responsibility for the operational management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Leading, supporting, and developing a dedicated team of staff and room leaders through coaching, appraisals, supervisions, and day-to-day guidance.
  • Ensuring children receive outstanding levels of care and education in line with EYFS and Ofsted guidelines.
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with children, parents/carers, staff, and external agencies.
  • Managing staff rotas, deployment, and ensuring ratios are always maintained.
  • Overseeing inductions for new staff and supporting the smooth settling-in process for new and transitioning children.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and working proactively to enhance the nursery s performance and outcomes.
  • Staying up to date with developments in early years education and ensuring best practice is embedded throughout the setting.

What We re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (in line with Ofsted requirements).
  • At least 2 years experience in a managerial or leadership role within a nursery setting.
  • Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance standards.
  • Empathetic, approachable, and confident in supporting a team.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Resilient, patient, and able to manage the challenges of a busy nursery.

Desirable:

  • Higher Early Years or Leadership qualification (or willingness to study).
  • Understanding of budgeting, invoicing, and payroll processes.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Comfortable using ICT and digital systems.
