Job description

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Nursery Manager who strives for high quality. Summerlea House Nursery is based within the charming seaside town of Largs and is an established part of the local community.
We require an enthusiastic and professional individual who has proven previous leadership or management experience and the ability to manage a small community nursery.
It is within the nursery managers role to ensure the nursery is running to a high standard and that you are following current documentation and guidelines.
Skills Required:
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to empower and motivate a staff team.
• Good curriculum knowledge.
• A good understanding of children's health and wellbeing needs/requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and communicate with parents, children and other professionals.
It would be desirable if the candidate was educated to Degree Level with a qualification in Childhood Practice or relevant subject, but we would also welcome applications from candidates willing to work towards a BA in Childhood Practice or equivalent.
Management or leadership experience in a similar role is preferred together with current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council, the General Teaching Council for Scotland or other regulatory body.
