About the Nursery Manager Role

Do you have Early Years Leadership experience and are looking for a fresh new challenge?

As a Nursery Manager, you’ll help create a safe, educational, and fun environment for the children in our care. You’ll supervise children, ensure their safety, and organize activities such as games, crafts, and educational tasks. While some days might be challenging, you’ll also laugh, have fun, and make lasting memories during one of the most important development stages of their lives!

About the Nursery

Tops Babbacombe Nursery is a 50-place Day Nursery & Pre-School situated in Babbacombe Road, Torquay. The nursery runs a variety of extra-curricular activities including Hi5s before and after school club for children up to age 8, Boogie Mites, and more!

What does the Nursery Manager role involve?

• Demonstrating a solid background in effectively managing nursery settings.
• Communicating excellently to engage with children, staff, and parents.
• Using creative skills and imagination to provide educational activities that ensure children are happy and learning in a rewarding environment.
• Maintaining a positive outlook to keep children happy and build a secure and rewarding environment.
• Conducting interviews for potential applicants forwarded by the recruitment department.
• Developing and maintaining the nursery budget.
• Arranging marketing materials.
• Monitoring the condition of the facility and equipment, organizing maintenance, repairs, and procurement as needed.
• Updating parents and carers about their child's progress and behaviour.
• Handling enquiries about enrolment, payments, and practices.
• Developing and implementing an age-appropriate program of annual events and activities.
• Preparing the nursery for Ofsted inspections and following inspector recommendations.

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of a Level 3 Early Years Qualification is required.
• Solid knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures.
