Job description

We are seeking to appoint from as soon as possible a highly motivated and committed ‘hands on’ Nursery Manager to lead our Nursery provision situated at The Old School, Main Street, Harborough Magna, Rugby, Warwickshire,CV23 0HS. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make their mark and continue to develop a highly successful and popular nursery setting where you will work with a very high degree of autonomy within an idyllic peaceful village setting and location.Operated by The Revel C of E Primary School, you will be strategically supported by our Assistant Head teacher, Head of School and Executive Headteacher. The Early Birds Nursery is in an
excellent position to continue to grow and expand as systems are firmly embedded and provision is already very popular and expanding within the locality. We are a unique school located on three separate sites - all in a beautiful rural setting and part of The Ignite Federation which includes both The Revel and Wolvey Primary Schools.


The successful candidate will be an excellent early years practitioner who can ensure a stimulating, high quality and innovative early years learning experience for our youngest children and be able to demonstrate that they can:

  • Deliver high quality childcare and developmental learning in a safe and caring environment alongside your team, working to, and exceeding national standards.
  • Regularly monitor and review the quality of provision.
  • Manage and lead an excellent, motivated and dedicated team of nursery staff.
  • Manage occupancy levels and market the provision.
  • Ensure effective communication and liaison with parents, other professionals and outside agencies
  • Support the ethos, vision and Christian distinctiveness of the Revel CofE Primary School
  • Demonstrate passion and commitment in striving towards excellence in all areas
  • Monitor and manage the nursery budget including half termly invoicing, ensuring effective spending

Key Requirements

  • A minimum relevant Level 3 Child Care qualification
  • At least two years previous work experience, preferably with relevant supervisory/management experience
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of OFSTED standards within the Early Years
  • Excellent knowledge of EYFS and the 0-5 framework
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children
  • Paediatric First Aid and Child Protection desirable, (training available)
  • A demonstrable drive towards non negotiable excellence
