Job description

Job Title – Nursery Manager

Job Location – South East London

Salaries – £35k – £40k

We have a great opportunity for a Nursery Manager; our client offers great career development by providing Montessori training and a number of courses to develop your career.

Our client is located in a new building, specially designed to provide a welcoming, caring, and stimulating environment. They have lots of outdoor space surrounded by trees and nature, where children enjoy outdoor play, plenty of healthy exercise, and team games all year round. Starting in the spring, they will have fun growing their own vegetables and plants with the children.

In this role, you will support and promote inspiring and innovative projects, leading the nursery through the Project Celebrations and fostering an atmosphere of enjoyment in all our learning. You will ensure that Practitioners and Teachers feel valued and that their capabilities have been recognized.

Responsibilities:

  1. Make sure every child has observations uploaded regularly
  2. Encourage productive music and yoga provision
  3. Maintain excellent communication with parents and staff
  4. Develop the team, building on existing training plans
  5. Hold staff meetings
  6. Manage the cleaner and chef
  7. Manage the allocation of staff, the staff rota, and holidays and sickness
  8. Oversee the induction of any new staff
  9. Investigate any complaints thoroughly

The ideal applicant:

  1. Experienced and energetic
  2. Previously worked in a setting graded by Ofsted as good or excellent
  3. Must have proven skills in people management
  4. Experience of leading a setting through an Ofsted inspection
  5. Respect for the Montessori ethos required
  6. Genuine commitment to CPD
