Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Nurseries seeks a Nursery Manager to lead day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality care and education in line with EYFS and Ofsted.

You will mentor staff, liaise with families and external agencies, and prepare for inspections while promoting a collaborative professional culture.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a UK Level 3 early years qualification and a recognised Level 6 degree with post-qualifying managerial experience.
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS and safeguarding children.
  • Senior leadership experience in a nursery setting.
  • Experience managing day-care settings with Ofsted welfare requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day running of the nursery and ensure delivery of high-quality care and education.
  • Lead, mentor and support the nursery team and develop staff performance.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies to support each child’s development and wellbeing.
  • Ensure readiness for Ofsted inspections and maintain policies and procedures.

Job Summary

This role provides the following services to the Trust: – You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and the nursery’s policies and procedures. You’ll lead, mentor, and support the nursery team, promoting a positive, collaborative, and professional culture while ensuring staff development and performance are maintained to a high standard. You’ll collaborate with a range of individuals, building strong, trusting relationships with families and external agencies, supporting each child’s development and wellbeing, and ensuring the nursery is always prepared for Ofsted inspections.

What you will bring to the role
  • Must be at least a level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification with a recognised level 6 early years degree and post qualifying managerial experience.
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS.
  • Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
  • Senior leadership experience within a nursery setting.
  • Have experience at managing day care settings with knowledge of all Ofsted Welfare Requirements for children and inspection procedures.
