Job description

The Treehouse Nature Nurseries is a growing group of day nurseries across East Yorkshire, with a passion for providing high-quality care and education through outdoor learning, meaningful experiences and strong relationships.

We\'re not your typical nursery! We believe children should have the freedom to explore, discover, take appropriate risks and learn through real-life experiences. Whether that\'s exploring the local community, getting muddy outdoors or following children\'s interests, we aim to make every day meaningful.

Just as importantly, we believe that creating a brilliant nursery starts with creating a brilliant team.

The Opportunity

Treehouse Nursery Manager

Location: South Cave, East Yorkshire

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Us

We\'re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Nursery Manager to lead our South Cave setting. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about Early Years, enjoys developing people and wants to make a genuine difference to the experiences of children, families and staff.

We\'re looking for a leader who is confident, approachable, organised and genuinely kind. Someone who understands that great leadership isn\'t simply about managing a nursery, but about creating a positive culture where children thrive and staff feel valued, supported and motivated.

You\’ll have the support of our wider Treehouse leadership team, alongside the opportunity to bring your own ideas, creativity and personality to the setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and leadership of the nursery.

  • Ensure the nursery consistently delivers high-quality care, education and experiences in line with the EYFS.

  • Lead, motivate and support a team of Early Years professionals.

  • Create a positive, supportive and inclusive working environment.

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Oversee staff deployment, ratios, rotas and the effective running of the nursery.

  • Monitor and support children\'s learning, development and wellbeing.

  • Develop strong, professional relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.

  • Support staff development through coaching, supervision and ongoing professional development.

  • Work closely with the wider management team to continually reflect on and develop nursery practice.

  • Oversee occupancy, admissions and the operational performance of the setting.

  • Champion our nature-based ethos and ensure outdoor learning is an important part of everyday nursery life.

Who Are We Looking For?

Of course, qualifications and experience matter. But we\'re equally interested in the person behind them.

Are you kind?

Do you lead by example? Do you notice when someone needs support? Can you have difficult conversations professionally? Do you bring positivity, encouragement and solutions to your team?

We\'re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare.

  • Has previous nursery management or substantial deputy management experience.

  • Has a thorough understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.

  • Is confident leading, developing and inspiring a team.

  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Can balance the operational demands of nursery management with a genuine passion for children\'s experiences.

  • Is approachable, professional and supportive, while maintaining high expectations.

  • Is reflective, proactive and confident making decisions.

  • Has a genuine interest in outdoor learning and child-led experiences.

  • Wants to contribute to a positive workplace culture where everyone feels valued.

Most importantly, we want a genuinely lovely human being who also happens to be brilliant at Early Years.

What We Offer

  • A welcoming, supportive and passionate team.

  • Support from an experienced wider leadership team.

  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression.

  • The opportunity to influence the continued development of the setting.

  • A nursery group with a distinctive nature-based approach to children\'s learning.

  • A working environment where relationships, kindness and staff wellbeing really matter.

  • The opportunity to bring your own ideas and make a meaningful difference.
