Job summary

Goodwin Development Trust in Hull is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Manager to lead a 74-place nursery and oversee safe, engaging early years care for children aged 0–5. You will drive safeguarding, day-to-day operations, staff management and compliance with EYFS and Ofsted, while building strong relationships with families and community partners.

The successful candidate will bring Level 3+ early years qualifications, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and a passion for high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Full Level 3 or higher early years and childcare qualification.
• At least two years’ supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Confident, caring leader who motivates colleagues and creates a positive environment.
• Willing to work towards Level 4/5 leadership qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the nursery team to deliver safe, inclusive and engaging learning experiences for children aged 0–5.
• Take the lead on safeguarding, day-to-day operations, staffing and compliance with EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and community partners.
• Drive continuous improvement and help maintain a successful, sustainable nursery.
• Work closely with Octagon Nursery, Fenchurch Family Hub and other Goodwin services.

The role will include:
