The Old Forge Day Nursery is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to join our team!

We are passionate about outdoor learning spending lots of time in our forest school and building community relationships by taking our pre-school children to spend time at the local residential home.

Job Description:

As the Nursery Manager, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the nursery. You will oversee staff performance, ensure compliance with early years regulations, and create a safe and engaging environment for all children. You will work closely with parents, staff, and external stakeholders to provide high-quality care and education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the nursery staff, providing support, training, and development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and maintain the highest standards of safety and well-being for all children.
• Implement engaging and age-appropriate curricula in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Foster positive relationships with parents, communicating regularly about their children’s development and well-being.
• Manage budgets effectively and oversee financial planning for the nursery.
• Understand the funding model for local authority and how to implement it.
• Conduct performance appraisals and support staff in their professional growth.
• Promote strong community relationships and lead marketing efforts to drive enrollment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A relevant degree or qualification in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g., Level 3 or above).
• A minimum of at least 2 years experience as a Nursery Manager
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
