Job description

Nursery Manager

We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to join a beautiful little Children's Day nursery and Preschool in West Byfleet.

We focus on working as a one big team and delivering the highest quality of childcare and education.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on management style, experience of assisting in managing Ofsted Inspections, excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum and be an inspirational manager.

The ideal Nursery manager will have:

  • Experience of managing a day nursery.
  • Experience of managing Safeguarding and Health & Safety
  • Experience with Ofsted inspections
  • Ideally qualified to Level 4 or above in childcare/Early Years, but holding at least a Level 3 qualification

The Nursery Managers key responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for managing the daily running of the nursery.
  • Compliance to Ofsted regulatory requirements
  • Partnership working with parents
  • Staff recruitment, induction, ongoing supervisions, conducting regular staff assessments, recognising training needs, monitoring training and developing teamwork
  • Organising regular staff meetings and training
  • Working with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stages) Curriculum, care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
  • Supervision of the planning and preparation of activities to develop all aspects of the child's individual development in a stimulating atmosphere.
  • Ensuring developmental records and observations are kept.
  • Ensuring staff adhere to and understand all nursery policy and procedures.
  • Maintaining staff ratios
  • Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records.

The role is all year round, working 40hrs per week - 8-6pm.
