Job summary

Randstad Education are assisting a privately owned day nursery in Bradford to appoint a Nursery Manager. The role covers overall operational, educational, and commercial responsibilities, leading practitioners and fostering strong parent relationships.

You will ensure the learning environment exceeds EYFS outcomes and drive continuous quality improvements in safeguarding and safety protocols, with a focus on outstanding Ofsted readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum Full and Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
• Experience as Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager within a private day nursery.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the revised EYFS framework, Ofsted inspection expectations, and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent leadership presence, strong organisational abilities, commercial awareness, and empathetic communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) and full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & People Management: recruit, mentor, and motivate a team of room leaders and practitioners; conduct regular supervisions and appraisals.
• EYFS & Care Quality: lead curriculum implementation, track child progress, uphold safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
• Ofsted Readiness: maintain compliance with statutory frameworks and lead quality audits to achieve outstanding rating.
• Parent & Community Partnership: act as ambassador for the nursery, ensuring transparent communication and high parent satisfaction.
• Operational & Commercial Performance: manage occupancy, fees, staffing rotas, and budgets with owners.

Salary: Competitive, negotiable depending on experience (£34,000 - £42,000+ per annum depending on experience)

The Role

As a Nursery Manager, you will hold overall operational, educational, and commercial responsibility for the day-to-day running of the setting. Leading from the front, you will inspire their practitioner team and foster strong relationships with parents. You will ensure the learning environment exceeds standard Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & People Management: Recruit, mentor, and motivate a passionate team of room leaders and early years practitioners; conduct regular supervisions and appraisals.
• EYFS & Care Quality: Lead curriculum implementation, track child progress, and uphold exemplary safeguarding and health & safety protocols.
• Ofsted Readiness: Maintain continuous compliance with statutory frameworks and drive internal quality audits to achieve and sustain an Outstanding rating.
• Parent & Community Partnership: Act as the primary ambassador for the nursery, ensuring transparent communication, high parent satisfaction, and a welcoming atmosphere.
• Operational & Commercial Performance: Manage nursery occupancy, fee structures, staffing rotas, and budgets in collaboration with the owners.

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: Minimum Full and Relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5, Level 6, or Early Years Initial Teacher Status / BA Hons in Early Childhood Studies highly desirable).
• Experience: Proven experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager within a high-standard private day nursery setting.
• Expertise: Comprehensive working knowledge of the revised EYFS framework, Ofsted inspection expectations, and local safeguarding procedures.
• Skills: Excellent leadership presence, strong organisational abilities, commercial awareness, and empathetic communication skills.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) and full right to work in the UK.
