Job summary

Woodlands Park Primary School in White Waltham is seeking a Nursery Lead Practitioner to lead our nursery provision and create an exceptional early years environment. You will champion child-centred, play-based learning and build warm relationships with children and families.

The role emphasises outdoor learning in our woodland area, observation-led planning and collaboration with the Early Years Leader to develop the curriculum and deliver phase events.

Qualifications

• Holds Level 6 Early Years qualification, EYTS, EYPS or QTS or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and child development.
• Passionate about delivering high-quality, child-initiated, play-based learning experiences.
• Understands the importance of sustained shared thinking and high-quality adult-child interactions.
• Loves outdoor learning and engaging with woodland learning opportunities.
• Builds warm, positive and professional relationships with children, families and colleagues.
• Calm, nurturing and caring approach with children's wellbeing at heart.
• Leads by example with high expectations and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day provision within the nursery.
• Create an engaging environment that supports children's interests and independence.
• Plan and facilitate high-quality learning experiences based on children's needs, interests and developmental stages.
• Champion outdoor learning and maximise opportunities in natural environments.
• Foster strong partnerships with parents and carers with effective communication.
• Support assessment and development through observation and responsive planning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high standards of care, education and safeguarding.
• Work with the Early Years Leader to deliver phase events and develop the curriculum.
