Job description

Are you an experienced Early Years professional ready to take the next step in your career? We re looking for a passionate, confident and nurturing Nursery Lead to join a vibrant early years setting and help shape the learning journey of children in their most crucial developmental years.

Position: Nursery Lead Practitioner
Location: South Ockendon
Salary Scale: GBP90-GBP135 per day
Contract Type: Full-time

Start Date: September

As the Nursery Lead, you will:

  • Oversee the daily running of the nursery room, ensuring a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment.

  • Lead and inspire a team of practitioners, modelling outstanding early years practice.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning opportunities aligned with the EYFS framework.

  • Monitor children s progress, keeping accurate records and working closely with parents and carers.

  • Take responsibility for safeguarding, wellbeing and health & safety across the setting.

  • Liaise with management and contribute to inspections, audits and development planning.

We re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years Education (essential).

  • Has at least 2 years of experience in a nursery or EYFS setting.

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a small team.

  • Has an excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child development.

  • Is passionate, organised, and committed to providing the highest standards of care and education.
