Job summary

Bright Horizons Bickley Day Nursery is seeking an Early Years Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals for children, minimising wastage and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment in the Bickley nursery.

In the absence of the Chef, you will run the kitchen and ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams; we welcome candidates with a passion for nutrition and food safety qualifications to join our supportive

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in domestic or commercial setting
• Passion for nutrition and promoting healthy eating
• Ability to manage different dietary requirements including allergies
• Food Safety qualification (L2 or above) to be obtained on day 1
• Knowledge of COSHH is desirable
• Excellent communication with staff, children and parents

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals for all children
• Minimise wastage and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment
• In the absence of the Chef, run the kitchen and oversee daily operations
• Ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and clearly communicated to teams
